Rangeley Lakes Logging Festival 2014

The Rangeley Lakes Logging Museum hosts a celebration of all things wooden and saw-able. On Friday, experience Bob Giles' re-enactment of how logging was done with draft horses in the 1950s and '60s. Watch flaky biscuits become sun-baked to the tunes of Missisquoi River Band bluegrass. Saturday ushers in the main events, like the log parade at 10 a.m. and the festival kick-off at 11 a.m. Marvel at the size and strength of logging equipment, and learn how it's done. Woodworkers will display and sell their wares.

This weekend festival includes a children’s tractor pull, barrel tractor rides, many displays of working antique engines, implements and the Shingle Mill in operation. The tractor parades, tractor pulling, live entertainment, square dancing, great food, crafters and artisans round out the event. Homemade strawberry shortcake, ice cream, root beer floats, hamburgers, and hot dogs, will all be served throughout the day.
